Project <no poverty>

Hello, my name is M. I am grade 5 student. I’m going to International school in India.

「 Why do I choose this topic? 」

I didn’t think about a poverty till now. I didn’t have a opportunity to consider about the poverty because I was not shown in Japan. I knew there is the poverty in Japan through the PYP Exhibition.

I think the important point is below in the activity.
「 How do I change my idea through this exhibition? 」

I was thinking a volunteer cannot disappear the poverty. I asked about Japanese poverty to Mr. Fukagawa who a member of my local location assembly during the activity. After that, my idea was changed a volunteer needs to reduce a poverty.

I had new opinion for working PYP Exhibition. I glad my friends have interest to my exhibition. I also have interest to classmate’s exhibition.

I felt it is difficult and could not proceed some time. But I tried to make hard this site.

Poverty line is an indicator of the minimum income from which statistically the items necessary for daily life can be purchased. With less income, it means that the family life can not be supported.

About Poverty line of world

In 1990, the World Bank researcher group proposed a measurement method using world standards of poor countries in order to grasp the number of worldly poor people. At that time, we verified the country-specific poverty line of several countries of poverty. A purchasing power parity (PPP) converted them into US dollars. And calculated their average value was about 1 dollar per day per person .

In October 2015, the international poverty line was revised to $ 1.90 per day.

The poverty line is not a strict indicator. It varies from country or institution. I write an article expressing the world poverty line on this site.

Absolute poverty and relative poverty

I learned that there is poverty in Japan as well when I started to investigate it soon. When I asked to Mr. Fukagawa who a member of my local location assembly, I could know the poverty has 2 types, absolute poverty and relative poverty. And Japan have solved absolute poverty.

Although there is relative poverty in Japan. I believe my theme of “continuing to fight poverty” is a necessary thought for Japan.

Depend on a condition and politics of each counties.

In case of Japan, lost work, have a debt or so on.

Q.03 Why is Poverty global issue?

Poverty is a serious problem that took people’s lives. Many people suffer worldwide (736 million people). In order to solve this problem, we can not deal with only one country or region.

My local region has some activities. For example, A Peace Memorial Concert was held, doing the abolition of landmines and making schools in Cambodia. Cambodia collects contributions from foreign countries for making school aggressively because they don’t have money. They were awarded from the government.

And In case of EU area, they don’t have boarder. So they face problem that many poor people move to rich countries. The government can not spend too much money to proper politics.

In this way I think each countries can help each other over the country, so I thought that should be considered as a global problem.

Q.07 How poverty is involved in the country?

It is an inhibition of economic development of the country.

Q.08 Is poverty also involved in other global issues?

Yes.

For example, Zero hunger have to be achieved to solve poverty. And it is same relationship for opposite situation.

Q.09 How many countries are below the poverty line?

There are 2 types of poverty line. Absolute poverty line and relative poverty line. The number of country is different depended on which type of line.

I am Grade 5 student who studying at Lancers International School in India, Haryana state, Gurgaon. I made this site for one of the my PYP Exhibition activities.

I research and present on one of the social problems in the world, what is needed to tackle poverty continuously.

Important factors are “Don’t Ignore”, “Politics” and “Education”. I believe we need to continue fighting to Poverty for coming the good future.
